What is Sphagnum Peat Moss?

Sphagnum Peat Moss is a natural organic soil conditioner and growing medium that regulates moisture and air around plant roots. It is harvested from peat bogs in the northern hemisphere including Canada, U.S.A, Russia, and northern Europe. Our peat moss is sourced from sustainably harvested peat bogs in Canada.

What are the benefits it provides?

As our peat moss originates in natural peat bogs without any soil contamination, it is free of plant pathogens, weed seeds, mineral salts and heavy metals. In addition, Sphagnum Peat Moss:

• Has a high water holding capacity, retaining up to 20x its weight in moisture, slowly releasing it as plants need.
• Provides superior Cationic Exchange Capacity (CEC) to optimize plant growth.
• Protects soil from hardening and adds some organic material.
• Boasts an outstanding air filled porosity (AFP), allowing roots to grow and expand to their fullest potential.
